Blaenhonddan Community Council has been monitoring advice regarding the Coronavirus outbreak and its implications. Whilst circumstances are changing daily, the Council has made some decisions which impact on the delivery of its services.
All meetings of the Council have been suspended until further notice and this is consistent with actions taken by other councils in the local area. All of the Council’s community centres will be closed from Friday 20th March 2020. This is likely to be the case until at least June, but the situation will be reviewed regularly based on advice from Government and Public Health Wales. There will be no formal use of the Council’s playing fields. Parks and Playgrounds have been closed where it is possible to do so, until further notice. The closures will be kept under review.
The Council’s Office will be closed to the public and staff will be working from home. Should you require support in any way, please contact the Council or your community councillors and you will be directed to a support network. Any contact with the Council will be through the following e-mail and mobile number. These will be regularly monitored and responses made where appropriate…

The Council regrets that it has had to close its centres, playgrounds and its office, but has done so for the benefit of the wider community in accordance with advice received. The Council is encouraging everyone to heed Government advice to stay at home where possible and adopt social distancing measures. This presents the clearest opportunity to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and we must all play our part to keep our communities safe and well.
